Most folks who know WoodenBoat know Joel White’s Shellback dinghy. Its timeless lines and simple plywood construction have made it a popular build for over 40 years. But has anyone ever tried to build a traditional plank on frame version?
That’s the very question longtime School instructor Greg Rossel asked.
Join Greg for a fun-filled week of Boatbuilding wit and wisdom, constructing a very traditional version of Joel’s classic tender. Using Pine planking, steam bent frames, copper rivets and everything that harkens back to the vessel’s traditional semi dory forebears including spars and rudder, there will be plenty to keep everyone busy!
