Join us for an exciting week of plein-air watercolor painting with Maine artist, Kat Logan. This course is designed for all levels of painters, from beginners to advanced artists looking to refine their skills and techniques. Our focus will be on learning the medium of watercolor, with an emphasis on composition and simplifying the landscape of the Maine Coast. Throughout the course, we will explore a variety of watercolor painting exercises, beginning with drawing sketches to see the bigger shapes of the values. We will then work into a gray or monochromatic scale before moving on to color studies. Students will be encouraged to work at their own level, with individual support from the instructor. Weather permitting, we will take our painting outside to capture the beauty and inspiration of the Maine Coast. We will begin and finish our days in the classroom for demos and sharing the days work.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced painter, this course is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of plein-air watercolor painting.

Who is this course best suited for?
This course is appropriate for someone with little or no experience. The course is designed around the idea that you have not done this before or know very little about the subject. Students should pay more attention to suggested readings or videos to help familiarize themselves ahead of time.
This course involves a low level of activity throughout the week including: occasional standing and working, seating is usually available, working on your own project at your own pace is common.
