KAREN MILES is a licensed ship captain, from a Maine coast fishing family. She has spent summers on schooners, square-riggers, and working alongside her father as a lobster fisherman. Karen spends winters working as a furniture maker and artist, and also enjoys traditional marine carving. She has also earned a reputation for delicious food with great attention to detail. Looking at cooking as a creative and artistic endeavor, Karen takes pride in serving meals that are as beautiful as they are delicious.
